check out the video below of Kevin Durant. This guy is a great role model for all you young players out there. He has lead the NBA in scoring the past two years and is the leader of a very young and talented team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kevin has found success early in his career not because he is super talented, it is because he works extremely hard on all aspects of his game. He is a good defender, a great passer and an unselfish player. He is a very humble team mate and understands that without his talented team mates around him he would not have the current success he is enjoying.
Sit back and prepare to be amazed!!!!
Check this guy out. Blake Griffen shows us all how we should attack the basket. Enjoy!!!!!
Hi Guys, below is a great Jordan retrospective that goes from the start of his career, right to the end. Check out this list of accomplishments that they list at the end of the video. To all you young players out there, you can achieve what ever you want, with hard work and dedication. It worked for Michael Jordan and it can work for you.
The Wolves had a classic game against the Heriot Watt University team in Lothian League Division 1 action on Sunday 15th January.
The Wolves came out very rusty in the first quarter and let the university team run out to an early 10 point lead. Heriot Watt were very aggressive initially and seemed to hit shots from everywhere on the floor, taking advantage of the Wolves slow feet. The uni team were in the lead 22-12 at the end of the first quarter. It would be the last quarter that the Wolves lost in the game.
The Wolves came out in the second quarter with a different defensive set up which seemed to confuse the uni team which helped them build confidence, which carried over to the offensive end of the floor. The Wolves started to attack the basket instead of settling for outside shots and a number of aggressive drives and scores and some nice inside passing payed off for the Wolves. They won the quarter, outscoring the uni 18-14, slowly working their way back into the game and clawing the deficit back to 6 points. The score going into the half was 36-30 to the uni squad.
The third quarter saw the Wolves continue to reduce the lead of the uni team and got within 1 point mid way through the quarter. However a lapse in concentration allowed the uni to pull the lead back out to 8 points. The Wolves regrouped and finished the quarter strong to go into the final quarter with a scoreline of 51-50 to Heriot Watt.
The Wolves got better and better as the game went on and they truely punished the Heriot Watt team in the fourth. Looking calm and confident the Wolves dismantled Heriot Watt and only allowed them to score 5 points in the fourth quarter, whilst scoring 20 points themselves. The Wolves took their first lead of the game with about 8 minutes to go in the final quarter and never looked back. The go ahead basket was a three point shot from the corner by point guard Ben O'Connell, which was the result of some great passing and team work by the Wolves. The Wolves controlled the defensive rebounds in the quarter and made it very difficult for Heriot Watt to score any baskets. Mid way through the quarter the Dickson brothers, who were both having very strong all round games, woke up offensively. Marc Dickson had three scored baskets in three consecutive offensive possessions, two 2 point baskets and a three pointer, and Grant Dickson had an elbow jump shot followed by three pointer. These great scores followed by some fantastic team defense allowed the Wolves to stretch the lead and run out eventual winners with a final scoreline of 70-56.
Marc Dickson top scored with 19 points and 5 rebounds, Andy Smyth had 16 points and 5 rebounds and Andy Sturrock continued his strong rebounding with 9 rebounds.
The Prestige are up next on Saturday 21st January at Deans, tipping at 1.
