Basketball Scotland U10 Girls Regional Development League - Week 1
Sunday 30th October 2016
Report by P. Meldrum
The Under 10 Girls took to the floor for the first time in the 2016-17 season with the usual mix of trepidation and expectation.
A new season opener is always a good gauge as to where our debutant Wolves are compared to our peer group, so a double header against the Kats would prove a benchmark to the girls.
Our wee Wolvettes excelled all expectations and performed brillantly at both ends of the court.
Good rotations from coaches Kirstin & Sophie ensured the Wolves always had pace and length at both ends of the floor.
Some great ball movement and finishing opened up an early lead that just got wider and great rebounding got our transition going and gave us second chance points.
Some quick steals and finishes from Hannah had the crowd on its feet, and everyone got in on the scoring.
An impressive start for the girls, but much to work on for the coaches
