The U14/16 Boys were in action on sunday 25th at the The Peak in Stirling.
The U14 boys were up first thing with a win (20-0) against Edinburgh Lions.
The U14 boys second game was a tough game against Edinburgh Kings who are one of the top teams in the league this year. The boys started slow but got into the game, some of the players had never played in a competitive game before (Normunds Pickman) and some of the boys have only played one round of games (Sadik Elshani and Martin Burch), over all the boys played really well but just couldnt live with the strength of the kings team.
The boys second game was right after the first contest. This game was made even tougher as we only had 7 players that able to play. The boys played better in this game but just couldnt put the ball in the basket, Ruari love played well throughout the game looking to shoot and hustling for everything. Every single boy who steped on the court played well. Again the boys did not get the win, but their steady improvement will hopefully see them start to compete with these teams as the season moves on.
The U16 boys played for the first time this season on sunday and came out with a win in their first game agianst East Lothian Peregrines. Coach Grant Dickson was really happy to see the boys play well in their first competitive game. Similar to the under 14 boys team there were a few players that hadnt steped on a basketball court in a competitive match before Sunday. For Ross Fraser and John Colins this was their first competitive game. There was some U14 boys playing for too, William Wardrop and Sadik Elshani.
The boys second game was just a friendly against Stirling Knights as Blaze didnt turn up with a team. The boys went out and had fun while using the opportunity to work on their offenses and defenses.
Lets keep working hard!!!!
