The Senior Women have had a number of games in recent weeks. On Monday 5 March they visited Saints, and the following night took on Polonia Phoenix.
Saints vs Wolves (Senior Women) 5/3/12
It was a fair start for the Wolves with the Saints only just edging the lead (2-points) by the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the Saints opened the gap and the Wolves struggled to close down and respond to a strong Saints team and by half time Saints had a 10-point lead. In the third and forth quarters the Wolves started to find their feet and run the plays, defence tightened and the Wolves started to put up some successful shots. With the Saints continuing to sink their shots it was too little too late to make a difference to the overall outcome. In future Wolves need to tighten up their passing and move the ball around the key quicker to make scoring opportunities.
Final score 54 – 37 to the Saints. S.Davidson was top scorer for the Wolves with 12 points
Polonia Phoenix vs Wolves (Senior Women) 6/3/12
After the game the night before, the Wolves had to shake off their tiredness, dig deep and get stuck into what they knew would be a tough game ahead. Polonia hit the ground running and took an early lead of ten points in the first quarter. The second quarter, points wise, was not any different for the Wolves however, they put up a strong defence and managed to keep the score down. It was a good team effort that saw them in the third quarter break through Polonia's defence to score 8 points. New plays were tried successfully and the Wolves did not hold back on effort. Polonia maximised on their strong team numbers and turned their scoring opportunities into points. Overall it was a good team effort by the Wolves which saw them double their points from their earlier game against Polonia.
Final score 62 - 33 to Polonia. K.McGowan was top scorer with 10 points.
