![]() On Monday 11 November, Wolves were up against Dunfermline in the Lothian League. Over the years the games between these two sides have always been close with the fight for the win lasting right up until the final whistle and this was no exception. In the first quarter it was Dunfermline who were the dominant side. Wolves whilst running the plays struggled to find the net. It was V.Wigham, who finally put the Wolves first 2 points on the board with more than 5 minutes gone on the clock. Those were the only points for Wolves in the quarter, Dunfermline meanwhile had 10. After the break the Wolves rallied and came out strong. A few nice looks inside saw L.McGill capitalise on opportunities to get the momentum going and with good defence at the other end it was soon 11 pts each. It was largely tit-for-tat for the rest of the quarter before a couple of 3 pointers saw Dunfermline edge forward, making it 16 - 21. Going into the 3rd, both teams were very much still in the game. Wolves continued to run their plays and with a strong team effort they evened the score once more. With it all tied up it at 31 going into the 4th it was anyone's game and both sides were eager for the win. Both teams hustled hard but it was the Wolves who began to stretch ahead. It became a physical quarter and soon each team was in foul trouble. Wolves were 3 pts ahead in the final minute, and 2 free throws from N.Marshall made it 5. Dunfermline responded and with a foul on the way to the hoop the gap was soon closed to 2. Dunfermline stepped up the pressure with a full court press but a foul saw F.Trostler-Speedie head to the line to sink another 2 points for Wolves. With a few seconds left Dunfermline secured another basket. Pressure mounting, Wolves held on to the ball as the clock counted down bringing this tense game to a close. Game finished 49-47.
