The Wolves Girls Under 14s player Leah Stewart was last week named to represent Scotland in the Under 15 Squad going into next years international season. On top of this she has been named as one of two reserves on the Scotland Under 16 Squad, which will be competing at a European C level tournament next summer. This is made all the more special due to the fact that Leah is still only 12 years old, she will turn 13 at the turn of the year. This will mean that there will be a lot of basketball for Leah over the next year, with Wolves practice, Excellence in School Sports practice as well as Strength and Conditioning workouts and training, travelling and playing with two Scotland squads.
Luis Romero, the Under 16s National Squad Coach stated, 'Leah presented us with a rare dilema, she is so young but has so much talent and potential. Her inclusion into the Under 16 squad as a reserve will give her the opportunity to train in a tougher environment as well as travel and see what an international competition is like, without any pressure at this stage. This is a development opportunity and I personally wanted her in the squad to further her on going development.'
The Wolves are very proud of Leah and look forward to seeing her represent Scotland next summer.
