It is with great sadness that I report to you today the passing of Stevie Duff. Stevie was an inspirational figure in basketball and disability sport in East Lothian and throughout Scotland. He is directly responsible for the growth of basketball in East Lothian , as well as the formation of the East Lothian Peregrines Basketball Club and Lothian Phoenix Wheelchair Basketball Club. He was a great player in his younger days, playing for Scotland and spending time in America playing, until injuries forced him to hang up his boots. However he made the biggest impact on the sport through his sports development work, volunteering and coaching. Stevie moved over to coaching and playing wheelchair basketball and worked hard to develop the sport in Scotland. Stevie recently took on the role of Head of Basketball at basketballscotland, leading the development of our national squads and coaches.
The basketball community in Scotland is very sad at the loss of one of it's greatest personalities.
Our thoughts are with his family at this time of mourning.
