Report: The Wolves entered the game against Perth with a place in the playoff final at stake.
A strong crowd made up from both teams came to watch some nice basketball as always happens when these two teams play against each other, both having a vast number of great talented future stars which we will see grow in the next few years at this level and beyond.
Four great quarters from our girls ensured we reached the final. The game was played at a fast pace and with our fast breaks proving too much for the Perth Phoenix side, with our younger players getting a lot of court time and doing their bit for the team, with most players scoring and assisting to the overall scoreline.
Wolves Top Scorer: M. Bolotiki (15pts)

U16W National League D2 Playoff Final
West Lothian Wolves 85-51 St Mirren West College Scotland
Wolves Squad: T.Davies, A.Leighton, M.Bolatiki, R.Harvey, E.Legge (Capt), S.Shepherd, M.Sweeney A.Cowan, M.McHugh, S.Drege, S.Hedley, R.Bolatiki.
Officials: S. Morgan & J. Richardson
Report: One more step was playing in my mind, there was one more game that stood between us and achieving direct promotion to Division 1 National League next season.
The final vs St Mirren was to be an intense and tough game, considering we had only 75 minutes of rest after our semi final before the final game, with St Mirren, much fresher after playing their semi final the day before.
The Wolvettes started as they finished against Perth, strong to every ball and driving to the basket and M.Bolatiki once again starting our scoring and taking the first points of the game, the lead could have been extended during the first few minutes but a few missed easy shots (possibly nerves) and some early fouls allowed St Mirren to get back into the game and put pressure on a few of our players with a couple on two fouls each. Each of the starting 5 had scored in the intense 1st quarter which ended 12-16.
The 2nd quarter started differently, with the nerves settled and the focused regained,E.Legge and R.Harvey made their appearance coming in the to the quarter due to early foul trouble only to start with a consecutive run of points with R.Bolatiki starting the scoring followed by a big 3 pointer from Captain E.Legge who is just back from Injury to slowly start increasing the gap and taking control of the game. R.Harvey managed to get on the score sheet with a fake to then slice through the defence for a lay up.2nd quarter 28-42
The 3rd quarter is where the business end was made as the Wolvettes stepped up another gear with some entertaining basketball which resulted in extending further the lead with the twins M.Bolatiki and R.Bolatiki really stepping up the game with their skills, shooting (14 points between them) and defensive and offensive rebounding which cut any chance of St Mirren getting back into the game, A.Cowan contributed causing the damage to ensure a 29 point lead is taken into the 4th quarter. 3rd quarter 40-69
The 4th quarter saw more of our younger players take the court, they certainly showed their nerves were calm as they played some nice basketball to ensure the crowd was entertained with Molly McHugh rebounding stronlgy and a couple of steals to increase the gap.S.Hedley was also doing a grand job in defending and Simone Dregge with 3 assists and good defending to keep St Mirren at bay to ensure West Lothian Wolves finished strong to take then to Division 1 next season.
Final Score 51-85
A great season with a fantastic performance from every player in the final. As a coach I am extremely proud of what we have achieved, the team have made history today by taking Wolves U16 Women to the National League Division one for the first time. This is a dream for all involved in the U16s but also for all involved with the club and the girls have certainly worked hard to make it happen. And with out the support of the parents and club it is also not possible so a huge thank you to you all.
